Veteran tackle says 'It was an honor to be a Chief.' Terry McCormick
The Kansas City Chiefs have released veteran offensive tackle Eric Winston, whom they signed a year ago as a free agent from the Houston Texans.
Winston, who received an $8.4 million signing bonus to come to Kansas City last year, confirmed his release on Twitter and said "It was an honor to be a Chief."
The Chiefs chose to franchise left tackle Branden Albert, and there has been speculation that they might draft tackle Luke Joeckel with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft.
