Relatively unheralded and snubbed for invitation to the NFL scouting combine, University of Wisconsin safety Chris Maragos is beginning to draw NFL interest after a strong Pro Day workout.
Maragos would have placed in the top 10 among the safeties that went to the combine in six catgories and would have ranked first overall with his 3.84 in the 20-yard shuttle, his 6.51 in the three-cone drill and his 10.98 60-yard shuttle.
Marago ran a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash, which would have ranked him second at his position.
The honorable-mention All-Big Ten Conference selection is regarded as a late-round draft prospect.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder registered a 36-inch vertical leap and a 10-01 broad jump.
Marago, like New York Jets starter Jim Leonhard was a former walk-on for the Badgers.
After transferring from Western Michigan and moving from wide receiver to safety, he started every game last season and recorded 49 tackles and led the team with four interceptions.
He was voted team captain and won the Big Ten sportsmanship award.

Someone will have a nice late round selection with Maragos, He can fill in if needed and will be able to be an immediate impact on special teams.
