Matt Elam, S, Florida Gators (5-10, 202 pounds)
With Ed Reed no longer patrolling the backend of the Baltimore defense, the Ravens take risk by selecting undersized safety Matt Elam with the final pick of the first round. A naturally instinctive defender, Elam reads and reacts quickly to the play and flies around the field making hard, violent hits. While I have major concerns about his ability to be a good coverage safety in the NFL, there is no doubt he will make a lot of tackles while bringing the aggressive, physical playing style and attitude to the Ravens defense that the team lost when Ray Lewis retired.
