Charles Woodson will be visiting the Denver Broncos this week, a story first reported by Vic Lombardi of CBS Channel 4 in Denver and later confirmed by ESPN.
Woodson, 36, has had only one free agent visit thus far - to the San Francisco 49ers. The eight-time Pro Bowl cornerback and future Hall of Famer might be a nice fit for the Broncos, who have loaded up on veteran players the past couple of seasons in order to maximize their opportunity for a championship since signing Peyton Manning.
The irony in Woodson joining the Broncos, if that happens, is that Woodson would be joining Manning 16 years after the great 1997 Heisman debate when Woodson became the first defensive player ever to win the award, beating out Manning, who had been a prohibitive favorite for the trophy much of that season.
