The New York Giants dodged a serious injury at the start of training camp when linebacker Jameel McClain hurt his left foot.
X-rays were ruled negative. He was carted off the field, but it's not regarded as a serious injury.
"He thought it was a shoe issue -- an irritation in his foot -- but it was over one of the metatarsals," Tom Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "So they brought him in to look at that. It will be interesting to see what the discussion is inside."
If the foot continues to bother McClain, the Giants will probably have him get an MRI.
The Giants can't afford an injury at linebacker with Jon Beason still out.
