Martin Mayhew says he tracks the draft trade rumors that are out there.

But the Detroit Lions general manager knocked out one of those rumors – that he could be poised to make a bold move up the board and trade for the No. 1 overall pick with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions are currently sitting at No. 5 and without a consensus top three, it would be somewhat surprising if there was movement at the very top of the draft.

"I follow it. ... How much stock do I put in it? None. Zero," Mayhew said during his press conference today, according to "But I certainly read and keep up on what's going on around the league and what people are saying, and glean what some other people might be thinking."

The Lions have need for a left tackle and could use help in the secondary, specifically at cornerback.
