These two teams have only played eight times — and Alabama is 6-2 all-time against the Aggies. Not only that, Alabama has won three straight games over Texas A&M, but Alabama did suffer a home loss to the hands of Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans in 2012. Granted, Texas A&M does not currently have any players nearly as talented as Manziel and Evans, but this team has been poised and motivated during a season in which head coach Kevin Sumlin is on the hot seat. And it could take them to new heights if they can once again knock off the Crimson Tide.
As one would expect, tickets to see Alabama and Texas A&M go at it in one of the high-profile matchups of Week 8 are trending up on the secondary market, according to information provided by Razorgator. In fact, Alabama vs. Texas A&M tickets are currently averaging $364.73, with the get-in price clocking in at $175. Fortunately, fans driving to the game can at least save money on their Bryant-Denny Stadium parking by visiting ParkWhiz.com, which sports numerous cheap parking options all around the venue.
Both teams are coming off huge victories last weekend. The Aggies, for instance, won 45-38 over Tennessee at Kyle Field. Texas A&M needed two overtime periods to topple the Volunteers, but they’ll gladly take it as long as it results in a victory. Quarterback Trevor Knight, who threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns, notched the game-winning score with a one-yard touchdown plunge. In addition, running back Trayveon Williams rushed for 217 yards and a touchdown to propel his team to a win.
Alabama, meanwhile, is coming off of an impressive 49-30 road victory over No. 16-ranked Arkansas. Alabama gashed Arkansas’ run defense for 264 yards and three touchdowns, as they led comfortably from wire to wire. Alabama’s defense limited the Razorbacks’ talented rushing attack to just 73 yards on 36 carries. Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen did throw for 400 yards and three touchdowns, but he also recorded three interceptions, and his numbers were buoyed by negative game flow.
Expect a hard-fought, tough matchup between two of the most talented teams in the SEC West, as the Crimson Tide’s top ranking will be put to the test when the teams square off in an anticipated showdown Saturday, Oct. 22.
