Contrary to a report from ESPN, Denver Broncos coach John Fox didn't suffer a heart attack.

He was hospitalized after feeling light-headed while playing golf on Saturday.

"Talked to Coach Fox a few minutes ago. Did not have a heart attack," Broncos team spokesman Patrick Smyth wrote on Twitter. "Is in good spirits and undergoing additional testing at hospital.

The Broncos also issued a statement.

“Denver Broncos Head Coach John Fox was taken to a Charlotte-area hospital after feeling light-headed while playing golf on Saturday," the statement said. " “He is being held at the hospital for testing and further observation. Our medical staff is currently in contact with Coach Fox, his family and the doctors who are treating him. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.”

Fox, 58, was initially reported by ESPN to have suffered a heart attack, but has since updated their report to reflect the Broncos' statements.

The Broncos are on a bye.

A former Carolina Panthers head coach, Fox maintains a home in Charlotte.
