Asa Jackson blames team doctor

Asa Jackson was suspended on Friday for eight games for a second violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, and on Saturday he tweeted that part of the blame for his suspension lies with a former team doctor for the Baltimore Ravens.

From the tweet, Jackson implies that the team doctor quit his position and failed to turn in paperwork that would have allowed Jackson to take a substance within league allowance that was on the banned list.

"Team dr quit and never turned in my paperwork. Although I am responsible for what is in my body, this is just a bad situation that wasnt" Jackson's tweet read.

Despite the alibi, Jackson's excuse isn't likely to fly and any plea using that excuse is likely fall on deaf ears at the NFL office if he decides to appeal the suspension. Maybe the doctor's dog ate Jackson's paperwork.
