Bears nearly down to 75 players

The Chicago Bears cut 14 players to get down to 76 players days before Tuesday's NFL deadline to get down to 75 players.

Besides safety Tom Zbikowski, the Bears also released wide receiver Devin Aromashodu, linebacker Patrick Trahan, tight end Leonard Pope, running back Curtis Brinkley, defensive tackle Eric Foster, offensive tackle A.J. Lindeman, center P.J. Lonergan, safety Derrick Martin, defensive end Kyle Moore, tight end Gabe Miller, defensive tackle Brent Russell, punter Tress Way and linebacker Lawrence Wilson.

Zbikowski is a former Baltimore Ravens third-round draft pick from Notre Dame who started 11 games last season for the Indianapolis Colts.

Zbikowski, who has boxed professionally, is also interested in potentially pursuing a career as a firefighter.
