Bengals' Sam Montgomery cited for speeding, booked, released

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Montgomery has a heavy foot.

He was cited for speeding in South Carolina, driving 89 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone.

He was cited for speeding, booked into jail and then released under his own recognizance.

He's due in court July 16.

Montgomery, 24, is a former Houston Texans third-round draft pick from LSU who was cut by the Texans after allegedly using marijuna before a game, which he denied through his agent.

He was briefly with the Oakland Raiders before being placed on injured reserve. He was then signed by the Bengals in April.
