This is a very unfair method of business for the coaches, as well as unfair to the organization. Too often is the case that some of the staff can coach talent, but not evaluate talent. Not everyone can indentify and project talent in the draft.
This is going to be an ugly game for the Bengals. They were struggling to protect when they had their starters in the game, and now their backups come in; this could go from bad to worse.
Whenever I watch the Bengals play, I am reminded of how many games they have lost because of their lack of a demanding, physical, offseason program. They struggle when they face physical teams.
When I watch tape, I feel that there have been a couple of clear factors that have helped the Jets. The first is that they know Brett Favre as a player, they know a little more about how he fits into what they need and what they want to become on offense.
The above sequence is interesting, because at 2:10 the Eagles had a run pass option before the two minute warning and might have been able to get a first down. The incomplete pass on third down is a huge mistake, as it stops the clock for the Bengals and does not force them to use their time outs.
The Bears are built to win with defense and special teams, and when they give up 34 points in a game, they are not going to win. The Bears on defense is a huge concern, and each week you never know what you will get from them.
The TIE in Cincinnati was like a loss to the Eagles, and no matter how Andy Reid tries to spin this one, it is going to be an interesting offseason in Philadelphia. Trading out of the first round two years in a row tells the fans you are a talented team, not a 500 team.
I did not like the body language of Jack Del Rio on the sidelines yesterday. He seems very disgusted with his team right now.
The Chargers have gained 400+ yards in 3 of their last 4 games (2-2 in those 4 games). LaDainian Tomlinson has gone 5 straight games without a rushing TD – the longest streak of his career.
The NFL’s top two rushing teams over the past five seasons will meet in Week 11 when Atlanta hosts Denver. Since 2004, the Falcons rank first in the category with 11,097 rush yards (152.0 per game). Denver ranks second with 9,946 yards (136.2 per game).
