Brandon Meriweather busted for drunken driving

Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather refused to submit to a breathalyzer test after he failed a field sobriety test following a traffic stop early Thursday morning.

Meriweather was arrested on suspicion of DWI by Arlington County police, according to ARLnow.com. Officers detected an odor of alcohol on Meriweather after he was pulled over for speeding at nearly 3 a.m.

Meriweather said he was returning from a club in D.C. He joined the Redskins in free agency last month after he was a one-year bust for the Chicago Bears. Meriweather was selected to two Pro Bowls as a member of the New England Patriots.
