The National Football Post has confirmed that free agent cornerback Jabari Greer has just signed a four-year deal with the New Orleans Saints for around $23 million.
Greer had drawn interest from multiple teams since free agency began last Friday, visiting with the Detroit Lions over the weekend and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday in Tampa.
A five-year veteran out of the University of Tennessee, Greer has spent his entire career with the Buffalo Bills. He had 38 tackles and 2 interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns last season with the Bills.
I watch at least 10 Bills games a year, and I have never seen Greer make much of a difference in a single game.
If this is the going rate for CBs, than so be it. But I hope Saints fans don't think they've just signed a potential pro bowler. More like Nate Clements, but not as good.
I like the pickup. I don't think he's gonna be a Pro-Bowler or anything, but should be an upgrade and provides depth in the secondary, which was the main issue back there a year ago (besides poor safety play). I will cry though if they sign Sharper, that would be a horrible pickup.
Thomas Smith Redux.
I like Greer, Not to many QB's went at him last year

In 5 years this guy has 4 picks and 155 tackles.
Hard to believe that makes him worth close to 6 million a year.
