The housecleaning continues in Green Bay.  The National Football Post has just been informed that the entire Packers' defensive coaching staff (with the exception of linebackers/assistant head coach Winston Moss) has just been fired.  Green Bay makes this move less than one day after firing defensive coordinator Bob Sanders.  More on this story as it develops.

WOW. Great breaking news, guys! I feel for the coaches, but hasty changes often need to be made in this business. Any chance that Justin Harrell has been traded?

I don't know if i have ever seen such sporadic news before. Why is this so cryptic and in slow motion? Yesterday one guy, today everyone except one guy?
Now what? Give the DC job to Moss who has no experience as one? Then have him assemble his own coaching tree? I sure hope more experience rules out over less.

Maybe if Jags does not get the Head Coaching job for the Jets, he can run our NEW Defense.

Looks like the writing is on the wall for Moss be to named the DC should he not be hired in St. Louis...or do you think he was retained to make it look like he wasn't the problem in GB; therefore making him look favorably in St. Louis?

I read in the Milwaukee paper this morning that there are several other options out there for the DC spot in GB, such as Mike Nolen and Gregg Williams. Should Moss not be retained, anyone have any thoughts as to who might be the front runner for this job?

I am surprised that DB coaches have been fired, and unfortunately Moss, whose position group was the worst is still there. Let's see who they'll bring in before coming to conclusions but I am not as happy as many other Packers fan about this.

Boy the wrong guys are getting fired here I think you need to start at the top and murphy, thompson, McCarthy all have to go or we are setting ourselves up for another 25yrs. of being bad. watch out packer fans to go from 13-3 in one year to 6-10 is all the start of egos running this team. not people who know what thier doing.

Nice scoop guys!!!!!!

McCarthy isn't announcing anything until he completes his reviews with his entire coaching staff. Currently he is meeting with his offensive coaches. Rumor has it that Campen could be going under the bus too.

Paul - Jags is an offensive coach....

Peter - Moss was probably kept as a courtesy due to his pursuit of other jobs and he will probably get an opportunity to interview. But it wasn't very long ago that just about every Packer fan in the world wanted Schotty fired and if he was the genius that cooked up the "Let's move our All-Pro corner to safety" plan then he deserved to be fired.

Jags was the Offensive Coordinator in Green Bay until he left for BC - and I believe he came from Atlanta and brought the zone blocking system with him...which stayed long after he has left the Pack.

For those who are curious, I e-mailed Mike Lombardi and he tells me he will have an in-depth piece on this posted tomorrow.

Hopefully with all the firings in GB retaining Moss is just a courtesy.
The performance of the linebackers does not warrant promotion.
