Bruce Arians selects Harold Goodwin as offensive coordinator

The rumored plan for Bruce Arians if he got the head job with the Chicago Bears was that he was going to bring ex-Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt with him as his offensive coordinator.

It made sense. The men worked together previously in Pittsburgh and Arians could sell Whisenhunt as the right man to help work with quarterback Jay Cutler. But when Arians got the Cardinals job, he couldn’t exactly bring the ex-Cardinals coach with him as his coordinator.

So, Arians went another direction and instead will hire Harold Goodwin as his offensive coordinator. Goodwin was the offensive line coach for the Colts and also has ties with Arians that go back to Pittsburgh. Arians plans to call his own plays but this is a big bump up for Goodwin, who has been working his way up the ranks.
