Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive guard Carl Nicks and kicker Lawrence Tynes are being treated for staph infections, according to FOX Sports.

The Buccaneers have had their facility sanitized once and will do so again, issuing special soap to players and informing the league.

"We had a company come in and nuke the building a week ago after the cultures taken from Nicks and Tynes confirmed it was MRSA," Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik told ESPN "It was a precautionary move, but we didn't want to fool with it. Our owners said spare no expense. We had the facility treated, and the league office approved of our actions."

Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano has said Nicks has an infected blister on his toe.

Per the FOX report, the Buccaneers found out about the outbreak while scrimmaging against the New England Patriots.

Staph infections are serious business, ending the career of former Cleveland Browns center LeCharles Bentley.

NFL Players Association spokesman George Atallah weighed in on the situation via Twitter.

"We are aware of the health and safety issue in Tampa Bay and our Medical Director has been briefed," Atallah wrote. "We are also looking into ensuring that the team met its obligation to inform the players of the situation in Tampa Bay."
