Chandler Jones moves to 3-4 OLB

Regardless of how Chandler Jones rushes the quarterback, he's a threat to record a sack on any given play.

In his second NFL season in 2013, Jones recorded 11.5 sacks, which followed up the six he notched as a rookie in 2012. Jones was mainly used as a defensive end in a 4-3, though his role appears to be changing.

According to The Boston Globe, the Patriots are transitioning Jones into a 3-4 outside linebacker. Coach Bill Belichick is mostly a 3-4 guy, though the team has used some variations of the 4-3 to fit the personnel. But Belichick apparently feels good enough about what he has this year to go back to his roots on the defensive side of the ball.

Jones is a prototype to be a 3-4 outside linebacker. He's 6-5 and 245 pounds, possessing a great burst off of the edge. He's also athletic enough to drop into coverage when needed.

Jones will still mostly be asked to get after the quarterback, or at least you'd think. But expect him to be much more versatile on defense this season.
