Chiefs undecided on who will start at quarterback

After head coach Todd Haley's firing, any job security Tyler Palko may have had is no longer evident.

According to Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com, interim head coach Romeo Crennel is undecided on who his starting quarterback will be this week against the Green Bay Packers.

Ricky StanziICONCould rookie Ricky Stanzi get the nod in Week 15?

In the last four games, the Palko-led Chiefs have managed a pedestrian 187.3 passing yards per game, while the former Pitt quarterback has thrown for two touchdowns and seven interceptions. Perhaps most notably, the team has gone 1-3 during that stretch.

Kyle Orton, acquired via waiver claim on November 23rd, was inactive for Week 14 due to a dislocated index finger on his throwing hand and his status remains up in the air for this week's game.

The final option would would be to start rookie fifth-round draft choice Ricky Stanzi of Iowa and according to Kent Babb of the KC Star, Romeo Crennel has not ruled out that possibility, either.

Whether Crennel decides to go the veteran quarterback route or hope the Chiefs find lightning in bottle with a fifth-round rookie passer like the Houston Texans seemingly have, the team must quickly get things in order to avoid a blowout against the undefeated Packers this week.</p>
