Sources close to the National Football Post have informed us that Clemson University may be interested in hiring current Tennessee Volunteers head coach Philip Fulmer to fill the vacancy left by Tommy Bowden.  Fulmer will not be back at Tennessee next season.

In addition to Fulmer, we are hearing that current Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville may become a candidate for the Clemson job as well.  Click here to see more.

Hey Tigers! Hope you're ready to "pound the rock", Whether you have the players to do it or not. Ya see, thats all the man knows how to do. OH YEA, 3 yards and a cloud of dust leaves you with 4th and 1 everytime, and in Fulmers mind, going for it on 4th down is a crime against God.

That would be funny if Fulmer went to Clemson, he would still lose to Spurrier every year, and another Florida team in Fklorida St.

i believe fulmer could win in a lower teir conference like the acc he would have steve to contend with but he could win alot more in the lowly acc than in the top sec in reality the acc is for losers

Clemson fans and players have always been the best. They are gracious and great sportsman. All that would change if they hired Phil Fulmer. Tennessee fans are the worst behaved fans when it comes to sportsmanship. They boo the opposing team when they take the field. The football players themselves are even worse. They are prima dona's that only care about themselves. It would be a disgrace to allow the one really good thing Clemson has going for it to be ruined.

First, it was Bill Battle, then Johnny Majors, now Phillip Fulmer at Tennessee. There was not anything wrong with any of the three, and no coach in America can win 9-12 games every year. The money people who control the football situation
in Knoxville are dilusional and think a coach can, and must win 9-12 games every year. There are not that many great football players in America who can help a team win that many games every year.

After being treated so shabbily by Mike Hamilton it would be gratifying for Fulmer to be hired by Hamiltons's alma mater. Hamilton should hang his head in shame for the way he treated Fulmer and his assistants after all of the years of dedication they have given to the University. Hamilton wants all of his OWN people on board at U T and he is hell bound to get them. I don't wish the program any ill will but Hamilton was a very bad choice to replace Doug Dickey. He has no love for the programs nor the people who work there. It is the changing of the guard and I believe Hamilton will find hymself under pressure to hire the RIGHT man.. whoever that is. It will be years before any coach is able to produce a top ten ranked football team.

Why not replace Mike Hamilton with Phil Fulmer? At least Phil's likeable!
