Scouting Report:
STRENGTHS - Hartsfield is a physical player off the ball. His ability to fend off blocks, combined with his ability to close quickly makes him very good against the run. When he gets to the ball carrier he shows the discipline to square up and shows very good tackle technique. Turns hips fairly well, although this could improve, and shows the ability to jump into coverage. He shows solid footwork and slides his feet well in order to square up the ball carrier. On blitz packages he shows the ability to explode through an open gap. Shows solid awareness, tends to read the QB well.
WEAKNESSES - Hartsfield does not have decisive speed in the open field. While he shows the ability to make the plays and close quickly, he lacks the energy at times to play full through and explode to the ball carrier. At times it looks like he's disinterested. Struggles to maintain coverage for a period of time and when he plays in the zone coverage, he does not show the quickness to pick up the route runner.
SUMMARY - Hartsfield has a solid frame for a linebacker, but will need to add some weight and muscle to improve his strength. He has shown the ability to break off blocks, however this is inconsistent and will need to improve on that to make a successful transition. Hartsfield can get into coverage well with his ability to turn his hips well, although he will need to work on this as well and flip them more quickly. He will need to improve his coverage skills as he shows a struggle to maintain coverage for any period of time. He does not show the explosiveness in the open field that I would like to see out of the linebacker position. He at times looks disinterested or has the lack of effort to get to the ball carrier. Other times he shows he will fly to the ball on the opposite side of the field. Hartsfield tore his ACL his senior season. From a skill standpoint, Hartsfield will need to become a more consistent player in all aspects of his game. On film he showed flashes that he could be a very productive player in the NFL, and other times it seemed he will get pushed around due to his lack of effort. Overall, Hartsfield projects as a project player who needs to improve his playing strength to make him better at defeating OL blocks if he is ever going to be more than a backup fighting to make a roster every season.

Steve Beauharnais ILB, Rutgers |

Scouting Report:
STRENGTHS - Beauharnais has good thickness for the position and has room to add to his frame. He demonstrates the ability to play with base and leverage and keeps his feet to drive through the ball carrier and finish tackles. He flashes short area quickness, which allows him to avoid blockers inside.
WEAKNESSES - Beauharnais is a limited athlete that lacks the speed and agility needed to operate in space. He lacks the explosiveness to close effectively on plays in front of him and looks choppy and awkward when moving laterally or dropping into coverage. He does not read run keys consistently and consequently is at times late moving toward the ball. This allows blockers to get on to engulf him quickly, as he also does not use his hands well to fend off blocks.
SUMMARY - Steve Beauharnais looks the part "on the hoof," but is unlikely to become a starter in the NFL because of his athletic limitations. He is a one-speed player that struggles to cut off the boundary on outside runs and at Rutgers was not part of the nickel package because of his struggles in coverage. On runs inside he will at times take false steps and lose gap integrity, and also tends to get tied up with blockers too easily. He's worth a late round pick because he has the frame and ability to anchor that should eventually translate well to the inside run game, but he will need to improve his read and react skills as well as his hand usage. Beauharnais will need to make an early impact on special teams in order to make a final roster, but look for a team that runs a 34 front to select him before time runs out on day three.

Scouting Report:
STRENGTHS - Unga shows fairly solid awareness and reacts well to the play. Unga shows the ability to fight off blocks at times, using his quick hands to create separation from the defender. When he is able to square up the ball carrier he is able to make very good form tackles and wraps up nicely. Unga has very good closing speed and his quickness also allows him to make plays in backside pursuit. His awareness combined with quickness allows him to recognize and pursue the RB out of the backfield and showed he could get into coverage quickly.
WEAKNESSES - Unga has slow footwork, which does not allow him to slide well and therefore is unable to square up the tackler on a consistent basis. When he is unable to square up, he has a tendency to get a hand on the ball carrier but miss the tackle. He is also unable to change direction quickly or smoothly and does not have very good speed sideline to sideline. Unga does very poorly in coverage as he does not flip hips quickly and can be turned around easily and does not have the speed to recover and keep up with the receiver. Unga has a tendency to play high and needs to bend knees more in order to explode to the ball carrier more effectively.
SUMMARY - Unga is a guy that plays with awareness and can be a very physical player. He shows the ability to break off blocks effectively and close on the ball carrier quickly. His awareness and quickness allow him to get to the RB quickly in coverage. His coverage skills need a lot of work as he gets turned around quickly and does not have enough quickness in flipping his hips to be able to recover well on a false step. When Unga needs to adjust on the ball carrier when he is unable to square them up, he struggles and has a tendency to miss tackles. Unga rarely shows and moves in order to shed blocks and get into the backfield for tackles and relies heavily on strength to shed the blocks. Against the run he does very well in keeping his eyes focused on the runner and recognizing where the ball carrier is going. However, he has a tendency to play high and lack of knee bend makes him unable to explode more to the ball carrier. Overall, Unga has solid quickness and speed and can be a physical player when he wants to be. Unga grades low, but is a player that could find himself in a training camp.

Tom Wort ILB, Oklahoma |

Scouting Report:
STRENGTHS - Wort tends to not over pursue on plays and is a guy that will attempt to square up the ball carrier instead of going for the blow up hit every time. He showed the ability to pick up coverage on the tight end well. When he backpedals he does not take long strides but rather short which enables him to close more quickly.
WEAKNESSES - Wort lacks the explosiveness along with quickness and speed to make plays across the field. Wort does not have great awareness and does not have the ability to recover quickly and has poor footwork. At times he looks hesitant to assist on a tackle and will become a spectator when it looks as though his teammates have the play under control. While Wort will look to square up the ball carrier for the most part, when he doesn't he has the tendency to whiff on the tackle. Wort tends to have poor balance and seems to get knocked around too much.
SUMMARY - Despite starting all but one game the last two seasons at Oklahoma, Tom Wort does not have the physicality or athleticism to play at the next level. He is a slow twitch player that lacks the speed and explosiveness to rush the passer or make plays outside of the tackle box. He consistently demonstrates poor instincts against the run, as he struggles to read his keys and is constantly two beats late or misreading plays altogether. His poor read and react skills allow blockers to get on top of him quickly, and once engaged he is easily driven off the ball because of poor hand usage and a general lack of pop in his play. When asked to rush the passer he does not demonstrate an explosive first step, and is too easily tied up at the LOS. In pass defense he is once again slow to recognize assignments, and is not physical with receivers through his area. When he does recognize assignments, he lacks the long speed and agility to cover in space effectively. Wort will need to significantly improve his strength, physicality and hand usage at the POA if he is to ever make an NFL practice squad.
