STRENGTHS - Brown showed in the games that I evaluated that he can be a physical blocker in the open field. He shows good awareness in picking up blocks as well, giving the ball carrier more time and room to adjust in the open field. He has quick feet and runs routes well. He showed very solid hands and will go take the ball out of the air, showed very good ball skills, ability to get up in the air and dive for the ball.
WEAKNESSES - Brown has a tendency to miss blocks in the open field, which could either be due to lack of 'want' or the lack of awareness at times. He does not have great open field skill and therefore is unable to gain significant YAC. As quick as his feet are he struggles with creating separation both short and deep down the field.
SUMMARY - Brown was not targeted very often in the games that I evaluated. He struggles with getting separation from the defender, and while he has quick feet and shows okay route running, he does not get off the LOS quickly. He is a physical blocker and will block when asked to in the open field. There were times where he missed on the block and loses focus at times. He does show awareness when blocking and has the ability to pick up key blocks to allow the ball carrier more space and time. Overall Brown needs to be more consistent and play with more intensity every snap to make it in the NFL, which is why I would not draft him. However, with his size and athleticism he is worth signing as an undrafted free agent.
