ANDREW SEUMALO DT, Oregon State

STRENGTHS - Seumalo shows the ability to get off the snap quickly enabling him to gain leverage against the OL, however he is very inconsistent in getting off the snap well. He showed that he has solid instincts and has the ability to make solid finishes on the ball carrier when he is able to get to them. He showed the upper body and leg use and the ability to explode upwards on the lineman. When in the open field he takes good angles in pursuit.

WEAKNESSES - Seumalo has extremely weak body strength, especially in the lower body. While he has the quickness to explode up, he does not have the lower body strength to drive the OL back off the LOS consistently. He showed a tendency to get pushed around and knocked to the ground too much to have any success at the next level. Does not show many pass rush moves to give him the opportunity to get past the lineman.

SUMMARY - Seumalo showed on film that he can get off the snap quickly and showed the ability to get low and explode up on the OL which will give him the ability to gain some leverage at the POA. However, he does not have the body strength to sustain and drive the OL backwards on a consistent enough basis. Seumalo had a tendency to get pushed off the line and got knocked down to the ground quite a bit. He was able to show solid tackling form and showed the ability to get away from the block. Takes very good angles in the open field in pursuit of the ball carrier. Overall, Seumalo was a solid, productive college player, but he lacks the talent to be a starter in the NFL which is why I would not draft him.
