Colts agree to deal with D'Qwell Jackson

The Indianapolis Colts have reached an agreement with veteran linebacker D'Qwell Jackson.

It's a four-year, $22 million contract with $11 million guaranteed.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of inside linebacker D’Qwell Jackson,” general manager Ryan Grigson said in a statement. “He is a team-first guy that has been a very consistent producer on the field. The tempo, energy and determination he plays with are right up there with the best in this league. He brings a welcomed element of experience and natural leadership to our team and we are excited to add him to the strong nucleus of linebackers we currently have on our roster.”

His other visits included the MIami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos.

Jackson was due a $3.933 million base salary next season and had an upcoming $4 million roster bonus before being released by the Cleveland Browns.

The former University of Maryland standout is a former Browns second-round draft pick who has 891 career tackles, 11 1/2 sacks, eight interceptions, five forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.
