League sources have confirmed to us here at The National Football Post that the NFL League Office has sent Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis a letter informing him that he was in violation of NFL league rules when he falsely accused the New England Patriots of tampering with then Raider wide receiver Randy Moss.  This violation of NFL team policy and guidelines will certainly come with a hefty fine.

More on this story as it develops.

Well, did the NFL investigate Davis' claims? Of course not. That would upset Mr. Kraft's delicate sensibilities. Give me a break. So Belichick lied and lied about Spygate, but now the league believes him when he says he never spoke to Moss. Riiiiiiggggghhht....

Al Davis also asserted that Packer GM Ted Thompson withdrew his interest in a potential trade for Randy Moss because he, Thompson, concluded that Moss could no longer run.

How in heaven's name could Thompson, or anyone for that matter, conclude such a thing? Perhaps Al was just imagining things.

The photo of the corpse-like Al Davis accompanying this story says it all.

The upcoming Michael Lombardi book on The Hotel just got a few chapters longer.

Please remove his photo from the home page. It's too creepy! Children viewing it may be damaged for life.

Aaron,
I posted this on this site on 10/1:

"Dig some diggin’ and here’s what I found, according to PFT as reported on 4/30/2007 the Patriots and every other NFL team for that matter received permession to talk w/Randy weeks prior to the deal being consumated, see link: http://archive.profootballtalk.com/4-23-07through4-30-07.htm

No tampering as I see it."

I think Lucian could be correct in his assessment after all.

Dear Allen Davis,
Why is it that you just cant keep your trap shut? Not that I am complaining as you are your own worst enemy, and all of us former guests of the "Hotel" and a few current occupents, LOVE watching you crash and burn. You continue to prove how ego and arrogance will bring down any franchise. Yes, "Rome IS burning" and you are holding the gas can and the matchbook in the same hand.
Maybe you should send your CEO to NY to smooth this over with the Commish?
Lets see, who will we blame for this one? Spin the wheel please ..........Tom Cable it is!! I am sure that by now, (6 days later) you are aware that Cable is not the guy you thought you were hiring. Put him on on notice TODAY, BEFORE the Saints game. Send him a certified letter demanding that he stop lying about being happy to work for you. We all know that no-one is to be happy unless you are happy. Are you happy Allen?
Keep up the good work, we're watching!!

Payback is a B-TCH!
AD and his henchmen have a lifetime of it coming their way. Lets just hope that Goodell does not go easy on him. In fact, Goodell should consider giving AD a compensatory 1st rnd pick. That would penalize the franchise for sure. We all know AD would surely blow the pick and with it, about $40-70 million depending on the slot.

Does Al Davis have a Screen Actor's Guild card?

If he does, and I'm a film-maker, I get on the phone right now and sign him up for my next horror flick.
