From Adam Schefter of NFL.com:
Denver signs free agent safety Brian Dawkins to a five-year, $17 million deal that includes $7.2 million guaranteed. The contract also has escalators that could boost the value of the deal to $27 million over five years, but the deal also could be voided to two years, $9 million. So its really 2 years for $9 mill. And lets see the Eagles have over $40 mill in cap room and only Q.Demps as a possible replacement for Dawk. Awful. They never even should have let Dawk make it to free agency. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible...
The Eagles front office better be right that he won't play at a high level for the next two years & whoever they plug in is better than Dawk. This really pisses me off as an Eagles fan.
joe banner says"its not about winning its about winning cheap" and by this non move we can all see the eagles "have the pedal to the metal" going all out to win whats most important to banner and lurie "THE SALARY CAP BOWL". we the fans see a great player ending a 13 year career in philly but you can bet joe banner can tell you to the exact penny how much money they are saving and like always here in philly its about the all mighty dollar
