Do Chiefs prefer Fisher over Joeckel?

The Kansas City Chiefs could be leaning toward Central Michigan tackle Eric Fisher as the No. 1 overall pick, rather than the long-believed No. 1 of Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M, says Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

Glazer also says the Chiefs are still fielding calls about a potential trade of the No.1 pick in the draft as well.

However, the issue with that is that in the 2103 draft, unlike in recent years, there is no clear-cut player on everyone's board who is head and shoulders above the rest of the blue chip players in the draft. In other words, no Andrew Luck-type quarterback or a consensus at another position that teams would be easily willing to jump into the top spot to trade for.

What is the highest-rated player to the Chiefs, might not be the top player on the Jaguars, Raiders or Lions board in this draft. So waiting for your guy to come to you might be the best strategy, rather than giving up something to move up.

Still, the thought that Fisher could be the first overall choice is interesting, considering that the tea leaves have pointed toward Joeckel for most of the past month or so.
