From Brad Biggs of The Chicago Sun Times:
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Bears likely have lost oft-injured defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek for the rest of the season.
Dvoracek walked out of the Metrodome late Sunday night with his right arm under his sweat suit and in a sling. He was lost on the second play of the game and went straight to the locker room without returning to the sideline.
'It was a serious injury,' coach Lovie Smith said. 'It isn't looking good.'
That left more work for rookie Marcus Harrison and Anthony Adams, who was activated last week for the first time in a month. Dvoracek, a third-round pick in 2006, has started 12 games at nose tackle and leads Bears linemen with 38 tackles. It's not a good development for a run defense that has been solid for most of the year.
A foot injury cost Dvoracek his rookie season, and he worked his way back into the starting lineup in 2007, only to go down with a torn ACL in the season opener at San Diego. Dvoracek's offseason was punctuated by a hand injury that cost him the bulk of the offseason workout program, then a calf strain kept him on the sideline for the first half of training camp.
The position haunted the Bears last season when replacements for Dvoracek went down. They have a little depth now as Matt Toeaina can step in. He has been inactive for all 12 games.
