FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) Brett Favre denies reports he called former Detroit president Matt Millen a few weeks ago and gave him information the Lions could use in a game against the Green Bay Packers.
The New York Jets quarterback, who had a bitter split with the Packers, said Millen called to invite him to go hunting. The friends then briefly talked about football.
"I didn't give him any game planning," Favre said Wednesday. "I haven't been in that offense in over a year. I don't know what else to tell you. It was pretty simple."
Favre also said Dallas quarterback Tony Romo called him last week - not the other way around- to ask for suggestions on playing through injuries.
and maybe someone needs to get favre a calendar, `cause he was in "that offense" in january.
Favre has destroyed 16 years of goodwill in less than a year...
Funny how the different media sources are taking the info and running with complete opposite headlines...
It's dawned on me now that ESPn knew Brett makes a weekly press conference every Wednesday, so they simply just waited for today to now call this a "developing story." If for some reason Brett decided not to go to the podium today, ESPN wouldn't have even brought it up. But when they learned Brett was finally going to speak, they had no choice. I think it makes them look pretty bias, considering so many Packers fans, Jets fans and players were reacting to the report.
Don't get me wrong from my previous post, I really could care less what Brett did or said. He's stands alone in what he's accomplished. I also think the people who are saying that "Ted Thompson leaked this story" are totally rediculous.
I'm just saying that when Packers players are speaking out about the report, as are fans, it deserves a hit or two from ESPN rather than just ignoring it for three days, and now bringing it up because they have to.
I know Ryan, it seemed like they were covering their eyes, ears, and humming really loud so they couldn't hear it.
We're talking about a national, sports news network dedicated to delivering the news 24/7. "NO, NO, it can't be true... nothing negative about Brett is true...!"
