Brad Childress has no shortage of concerns this morning.

The Minnesota Vikings coach is upset his quarterback Brett Favre fired three interceptions Sunday night in the second half of a 28-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He’s got to be concerned about Favre’s balky ankle. He’s livid with the Scott Green officiating crew. Oh yeah, there is that NFL investigation into Favre that is also ongoing.

Favre hobbled off Lambeau Field at the end of the game, struggling on his surgically repaired ankle after his final pass sailed out of the back of the end zone. It’s too early to say if he will be able to continue his NFL record of 291 consecutive starts this coming Sunday at New England.

“Who knows?” Favre said after the game, according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “Really, who knows? I hope I do. The reality is, if I can play but not be effective, then it's not worth playing. I hope I use good judgment. We'll see. I'm no spring chicken anymore. I don't heal as quickly. I know the heart's in the right place though. I know I left it on the field. It's just disappointing it didn't work our way.”

Childress wasn’t happy with the picks, one that was returned for an interception. In beating the Packers twice last season, Favre didn’t throw a single interception. He said he considered pulling Favre from the game.

"It still goes back to taking care of the football," Childress said. “You can't throw it to them. You've got to play within the confines of our system. Sometimes it's OK to punt the football and you can't give seven points going the other way. Not in a game like this. Not with a high-powered team."

But Childress was also livid with the officials, who took away three Vikings’ scores on replay reviews, including one by Percy Harvin in the final minute where he clearly landed with one foot out of bounds.

"That's the worst officiated game I've seen," Childress said in his postgame remarks on KFAN, per Zulgad. “That referee came over and apologized to me for not calling a hold on the scramble by (Green Bay quarterback Aaron) Rodgers. And I'll tell you what, that's his job. Protect the quarterback and look at the left tackle. Look at the left tackle hold his tail off."

At 2-4, the Vikings’ troubles run deeper this week. We’ll see how the Favre situation, both health-wise and the one off the field are addressed. It’s possible the NFL could complete its investigation into him this week.
