Foster says he is willing to share carries

Arian Foster admits he was frustrated by losing some carries to Ben Tate Monday night against the San Diego Chargers.

But the Texans running back tells the Houston Chronicle that he is willing to share the load with Tate, if need be.

“Obviously, they had a game plan going in of how much they wanted me to play and they’re trying to ease me back into it,” Foster said. “But my competitive nature, of course it’s getting (to be) crunch time and the fourth quarter and you want to be out there. It’s just how it played out. In my opinion, you probably (should be) concerned with a player that’s happy he’s not in there.”

Foster missed a lot of time in camp and preseason with injuries, so it makes sense that the Texans might not want to overwork him early on. It will bear watching to see how the carries are split this Sunday against the Titans.
