Giants safety Antrel Rolle sprained ankle

New York Giants safety Antre Rolle sprained his right ankle in practice today during a collision with tight end Bear Pascoe.

Rolle will undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam after being carted off the field.

According to the New York Daily News, it's a badly sprained ankle.

"It was obviously bothering him," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "He's being checked out. He must have stepped on it. It was like a rebound drill. They stepped on each other's feet. Honestly, I didn't see it until he was sitting down. The guy got up and left the field. That's all I know."

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Rolle could be sidelined for the remainder of the preseason.

"Well, I would much rather have him," Coughlin said. "Hopefully it's an ankle and he's coming right back. That's all I know."
