Holmes tweets out to Sanchez

The New York Jets weren't anywhere near the Super Bowl on Sunday, despite Rex Ryan's preseason prediction.

Instead, they ended up like a bad reality show (Not sure there's any such thing as a good reality show, come to think of it) with receiver Santonio Holmes and quarterback Mark Sanchez in starring roles.

Now, Holmes has reached out to Sanchez via Twitter, saying he is hoping the two can begin their own journey next season toward reaching the Super Bowl.

Holmes' tweet on Sunday read: "@Mark_Sanchez @Pouha91 Hope your getting as antsy as me for the 2012-13 season to start. One more day til we start to make that journey."

Jets coach Rex Ryan indicated as well to ESPNNewYork.com that he plans to have Holmes and Sanchez have a long sit down together to try and iron out their differences, perhaps even have a weekend retreat together. Doesn't that sound fun?

Holmes has reasons to stay with the Jets as his $7.75 million guarantee becomes $15 million if he is still around by Wednesday, according to the report.
