Jets bench Geno Smith, replaced him with Matt Simms

The New York Jets have benched struggling rookie quarterback Geno Smith, replacing him with Matt Simms.

Smith was benched after the first half against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Smith completed four of 10 passes in the first half with one interception.

Simms is the son of former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms.
