Jets' Quinton Coples out indefinitely, to have ankle surgery
New York Jets outside linebacker Quinton Coples is out indefinitely with an ankle injury that will require a surgical procedure this week.
Coples hurt his right ankle with several reports that he sustained a hairline fracture and will be out three to four weeks. The 2012 first-round draft pick, who recorded 5 1/2 sacks as a rookie, will definitely miss the remainder of the preseason.
The Jets issued the following statement: "Linebacker Quinton Coples suffered an injured right ankle Saturday night in the Jets' 37-13 win over Jacksonville at MetLife Stadium. Coples will undergo a medical procedure on Tuesday. He will miss the remainder of the preseason and is out indefinitely.
