Josh Brent out of jail

Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent was in jail for less than two weeks after a failed drug test while awaiting charges on inxotication manslaughter.

Brent was inexplicably released from the Dallas County jail on Sunday morning, according to the Dallas Morning News, after a court order. Brent, of course, is awaiting trial on charges he killed teammate Jerry Brown in a drunken crash in December. He reportedly had a blood-alcohol level more than two times the legal limit.

Brent was free on bond before being jailed June 27 after testing positive for marijuana. He failed drug tests in June and May, according to the report.

The Cowboys have kept Brent on the roster. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Maybe we’ll find out why he’s back on the street soon.
