NEW ENGLAND AT SAN DIEGO
FROM NFL.COM GAME BALL JAMAL WILLIAMS
Chargers defensive tackle Jamal Williams was credited with only two tackles but played much bigger than that. Williams repeatedly flushed quarterback Matt Cassel out of the pocket, knocked down passes and was a dominant force in stopping the run. Williams had a key surge to help stuff Sammy Morris on second-and-1 in the Chargers' pivotal goal-line stand in the third quarter.
Patriots 12-game road win streak ends (2nd longest in NFL history)

Cassel has 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 1 fumble lost in last 3 games
I just heard Romo is going to be out for a month with a broken pinkey, any truth to this?
did anyone note that Cassel rushed 7 times for 30 yards? that's like 15 yards better than anything Maroney's done all season
yes romo is out
Michael,
You say Denver needs more personnel people but what about the Goodmen's? They have helped with the last few drafts (that look to be good not couting Moss).....
michael - what's your assessment of chris long thus far? does he look like a good pick?
is NFP publishing a rookie report or 2nd/3rd year players at some point in the season?
The Richie Incognito penalty was probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen, absolutely unconscionable. However, I think it took the kicker off the hook, eliminating almost all the pressure. If he misses a 35 yard FG, it's all his fault. But after that stupid penalty, if he misses a 50 yard FG, who gets blamed? Incognito, not the kicker!!
Mike,
You said Denver needs a better personnel dept, but what about New England? Now that Brady's out, it is exposing the lack of new talent. Pioli's been a fair-haired boy in league circles, but show me some draft picks since their last superbowl win? Most all of them have been busts or pedestrian players at best. Sure, Pioli has traded well and signed some good free-agents, but very few of any picks after the 1st round are having any impact at all. I know you're friends with Belichick, but their drafting the last few years have been BRUTAL....
Mike,
Is there any way the Patriots could send Cassel to the Arena leaugue assuming he's still healthy after the season? You're spot on in saying he's too slow to process things. He just holds the ball too long and I think at this point, the issue could still be a lack of playing time over the past several years vs. it being a fatal flaw.
I honestly think I see what Belicheck sees in him, but right now he's nowhere close to being a starting QB in the NFL.
The key play in that game though was still Dan Koppen being blown up by Williams on 1st and Goal in the 3Q.
Mike, You haven't seen the new Oliver Stone movie "W"? Dick Cheney shot JFK.
The Broncos did not play well. However, we're 4-2 and we should crush the Patriots (even with Brady in the lineup, we've owned the Pats), while games against the Browns, Dolphins and Raiders should put us at 8-2 heading into a November 16 game against the Falcons. The Broncos stopped themselves. Cutler and Marshall need to play better and unlike Norv Turner or Sean Payton, I'm not going to complain about missed calls. The Jaguars were better and the officiating had little to do with the outcome. How about the Rams getting off the mat?
Brad Johnson is ready, Dallas will rely on TO breaking tackles @ five yards and taking it for six.
Any Cowboys backs able to throw on trick plays? Can Barber dothat, is he left handed like ROnnie Brown?
Someone said Felix got hurt early in the game, and his lack of reps hurt the team much.

"Romo had his 14th career 300-yd game, passing Troy Aikman for the most in Cowboys history"
Passing records have officially lost any and all substance, kind of like home run records from about 1995 to 2005. Rushing yardage records (particularly career totals), on the other hand, appear to be safer than ever.
