NFL supplemental draft set for today

The NFL supplemental draft is set for today.

It's not regarded as a lock that any of the four players who are eligible will be drafted, but they are expected to draw interest as undrafted free agents.

The group includes massive Virginia-Lynchburg defensive tackle Lakendrick Ross, SMU running back Traylon Shead, North Carolina linebacker Darius Lipford and New Mexico wide receiver-running back Chase Clayton.

Ross has excellent size at 6-foot-5, 360 pounds and has bench pressed 225 pounds 47 times. He's athletic enough to dunk a basketball, but has had eligibility issues and needs coaching.

Clayton averaged 30.4 yards per kickoff return two years ago.

Shead is a 240-pounder who rushed for three touchdowns and 197 yards last season.

Lipford returned last season from a major knee injury suffered two years ago.

No players were picked in the supplemental draft last year.
