Nice list Wes, I love the uniqueness that you have CB Vontae Davis as the number five corner, I am not a fan of him and I am glad someone has the confidence to knock him down a peg.

Also good DE list, Not a fan of Michael Johnson at all however, so many NFL people have him rated so highly because of his elite physcial skill set. Glad to see you can look past it.

Thanks a lot, love your work

Man you are right on time Wes! Need I say again....you the MAN!!

Wow, I just had a conversation with a guy who knows football about QB Stephen McGee. I will have to closely research this guy. So far I have for my 5th round QB's: Rhett Bomar, adding Stephen McGee, & Mike Reilly.

Wes - do you think my list of QB's will make it to the 5th RD & what do you think about Mike Reilly?

I'm shooting for Rashad Jennings as my top 3rd RD RB compliment to Gore (49ERS FAN)...do you think he has a chance of making it there & who else so you like?

Wes, What are your thoughts on Oregon running back Jeremiah Johnson and Missouri tight end Chase Coffman - I really like both of these kids and think the teams that draft these two are going to get real value - What do you see for upside in these two -

Also where would you rank Utah's Sean Smith as a cornerback -

I like seeing Sanchez and Brown at the top of the their positions -

Great read as always -

I'm curious about Greene. I've read he's actually had a tough postseason....bad showing at Combine drills. Also questionable pass catching ability I've read, so that would limit the systems he can play in.

Combine that with age, work ethic/aptitude questions, one year wonder...

Is is more that you are high on Greene or low on Brown/McCoy/Jennings

It's hard to see Harvin as the #2 WR. The most accurate scouting reports seem to have him as a combo slot receiver, third down back. If you take the 10%, 50%, and 90% projections for Harvin, Maclin, Nicks, and Heyward-Bey, Harvin might be the safest pick for at least minimal NFL value (10% projection), but the mid- and high-range projections for the other three are much, much better. Harvin is more like a low second rounder. Of recent WRs, his profile is closest to Sinorice Moss, a guy who was way overdrafted and has been a bust.

Compare the numbers of Crabtree in 2 years versus Harvin in 3 years (both in spread offenses, Florida's more run-heavy but also possessing a better QB) and you get a sense of just how big the gap is between Crabtree and everybody else.

Crabtree approximately 3000 yards, 41 TDs.

Harvin approximately 1900 yards, 13 TDs.

The Dude Abides:
Harvin isn't simply graded as a WR, he is a special kind of athlete who needs to be looked at as more of a "playmaker." I see a lot of Chris Johnson in him when he gets his hands on the ball in space. He isn't going to be your prototypical WR, but he is a guy who NFL teams will need to game plan for and thats why I like him so much. I think he is a much more natural football player then Maclin and Heyward-Bey and thats why I have him ranked where he is.

Harvin ahead of Maclin has to be an April Fool's joke. Good one, you sure got me!!!

The only one who might take it seriously is Jerry Angelo.

Chris Johnson? Do the Titans have to create special plays for Chris Johnson or can they integrate him into their offense seamlessly? Don't confuse a guy who can run and receive with a guy who you have to create special plays so he can get the ball in his hands.

The great thing about this list is that it doesn't precisely mirror every list out there.

I'm glad I see someone with the guts to say Sanchez is better than Stafford, Nelson is better than Pettigrew.

It seems like everyone, except Wes here, picks the same guys in the same order and every year. Look at Bradon Albert from last year. He was absolutely nowhere to be seen on anybody's list, and then he vaults from being unranked on Kiper's "Big Board" all the way to the top 10. Shortly after, he's everybody's top 10 pick.

I know Wes didn't exactly turn the rankings upside down, but at least it's interesting. I'd like a little bit of commentary next to some of the "surprise" rankings

Well, Wes loves Nelson. No surpise there. Still, I think most people with solid set of eyes have seen that Sanchez has a better chance of succeeding than Stafford, who is grossly overrated. I disagree on Michael Johnson. I don't think he is some Boss Bailey, Manny Lawson clone. He can really get after the QB. As an OLB or DE in a 4-3, I could see him struggling. As an OLB in a 3-4, I think he could really cause edge blockers trouble with his quickness.

Wes,

How come there was no additional position breakdown as in the March 3 Position Rankings i.e., 4-3 Defensive Ends; 3-4 Defensive Ends; 4-3 Outside Linebackers; 3-4 Outside Linebackers ??

Thank you
