Patriots add Brandon LaFell

The New England Patriots weren't done adding wide receivers after bringing back Julian Edelman.

They've now added former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Brandon LaFell on a three-year contract, according to CSN New England and ESPN.

LaFell caught a career-high 49 passes for 627 yards and five touchdowns.

A former third-round draft pick from LSU, LaFell caught seven passes for 59 yards and one touchdown in a loss to the Patriots last season. LaFell becomes the third Panthers receiver to leave the team, including Steve Smith going to the Baltimore Ravens and Ted Ginn Jr. to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Panthers will need to overhaul their receiving corps through free agency and the draft.
