Peyton Manning out at least two more weeks, Christian Ponder to work out for Broncos
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is out for at least two more weeks with a plantar fascia tear, the team announced.
Manning consulted Monday with Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C.
Manning was told to spend the next week in a walking cast.
"Peyton and I had a good visit today, and we've got a plan in place for his recovery," coach Gary Kubiak said. "His foot will be in a cast for at least a week, but he'll be able to be part of meetings and do some workouts with the rest of the team.
"We expect him to be unavailable for at least a couple of games. We'll proceed from there and will continue to support him as he does everything he can to get healthy."
Brock Osweiler is starting with Manning out.
Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder will work out for the Broncos on Wednesday.
