Bernard Pollard's first unnecessary roughness penalty in preseason against the Washington Redskins cost him $10,000 in a fine.

However, Pollard's unnecessary roughness hit on Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons won't draw him a fine, per the NFL office.

Pollard contended that the hit was not helmet-to-helmet, which might have been the reason he got off this time, even though the tackle appeared to come after the play was over.
