Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges as well as five other charges that include weapons and ammunition possession charges.
He's accused of murdering Odin Lloyd.
During the court hearing, Hernandez said "Not guilty."
His next court hearing is Oct. 9.
"Not one shred of evidence has been presented yet," lawyer Charles Rankin told reporters.
Bristol district attorney Samuel Sutter counted: "I think that evidence speaks for itself."
The case might not go to trial for a year, or perhaps two.
Hernandez was arrested in June and pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in district court.
He's being held in the county jail without bail..
