The Cincinnati Bengals have signed troubled former South Carolina cornerback Victor Hampton.

Hampton worked out for the Bengals on Tuesday, one day before he was scheduled to work out for the New York Giants.

Hampton was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection who was projected as a second-round to third-round draft pick.

He recorded 51 tackles, five tackles for losses and three interceptions last season.

However, Hampton faced questions about his off-field conduct following an incident at a New York nightclub in April. He was cleared legally, but was later arrested for an altercation involving his sister. Hampton also had off-field problems at South Carolina.

It caused him not to be drafted. However, he's now with a team that has resurrected past troubled players like linebacker Vontaze Burfict and Adam "Pacman" Jones.

Hampton needs to make this opportunity work for him after being kicked off his high school team.
