Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Marcus Johnson has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence this morning after police allegedly found him asleep at the wheel at a busy intersection just outside of Raymond James Stadium and within blocks of some infamous Tampa night spots. A cynic might say the winless Bucs (0-7) have been asleep at the wheel all season.

Police say Johnson was asleep in a 2010 Chevrolet Impala at about 4 a.m. at the intersection of W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and N Dale Mabry Highway. A police officer awoke Johnson and then a DUI investigator was called to the scene. Police said he had the smell of alcohol on his breath, displayed a noticeable “sway” and performed poorly on some field sobriety tests. He refused a breath test.

Johnson, who played previously in Oakland and Minnesota, was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail at 6 a.m. His nail was set at $500.
