Brandon Lloyd sure is taking a positive approach when it comes to not being pursued by any NFL team a year ago.
After 10 years in the league, Lloyd was passed over and spent the entire 2013 season away from the game. Instead of looking at it as a diss, the now-49ers receiver said he enjoyed laying low and being out of the spotlight for the first time in quite some time.
“Actually, it was kind of a relief,” Lloyd told Post Independent. “I mean, 10 years straight. I was really enjoying the anonymity. But at the same time, this is still the career path that I love. I love playing football.”
Lloyd was among the NFL's best receivers during his time in Denver, where he thrived in Josh McDaniels' system. However, when he reunited with McDaniels in New England, Lloyd struggled to develop a rapport with Tom Brady.
He'll get another shot at the tail end of his career in San Francisco, in what should be a talented and well-balanced offense.
