The Cleveland Browns have released veteran linebackers Larry Grant and Quentin Groves.

Groves had ankle surgery last season and finished the year on injured reserve.

Groves had five tackles and two sacks last season.

Grant was signed recently following a minicamp tryout.

Drafted in the seventh round by the San Francisco 49ers in 2008 out of Ohio State, Grant has 64 tackles, five sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He has also played for the St. Louis Rams and Chicago Bears.
