The Cleveland Browns are hoping to interview Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels soon, according to a report from NFL Network.

It would appear McDaniels is near the top of Cleveland's wish list, as the report states the Browns are "pushing" to interview him.

McDaniels does have a friendship with Browns general manager Mike Lombardi, which is one reason McDaniels and the Browns would be linked.

McDaniels was previously a head coach with the Denver Broncos during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Despite the success his offense had at times, his defense was among the league's worst both years.
