Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Ahmad Black was cited with misdemeanor possession of marijuana on Oct. 30.
The Tampa Tribune reports Hillsborough County Court records show Black was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. He is due in court Dec. 3.
“(We) are aware of the situation, have been in communication with the league office and are handling the matter internally,” the club said in a statement to the Tribune.
Black isn’t the first member of the safety to get in trouble. Cornerback Aqib Talib, since traded to the New England Patriots, was suspended for four games for violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. He tested positive for Adderall. Since, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer has reported cornerback Eric Wright also has a positive test for Adderall.
Black was busted for possession of marijuana in a traffic stop when he admitted to an officer he had smoked marijuana. A joint was found in his vehicle.
