Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said he will shift assistant coach Juan Castillo from running game coordinator to offensive line coach for next season, continuing changes in the coaching staff that have already included the firing of running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery.
“Juan will be the offensive line coach next year,” Harbaugh said Wednesday in the Ravens post-season press conference. “The rest of it is in a little bit of flux.”
Harbaugh has consistently said that Castillo, who will take Andy Moeller's job, is one of the best teachers in the NFL. However, Castillo was at the center of criticism this season for the regression in the Baltimore running game. Castillo joined the Ravens staff this season after being fired the previous season as the Eagles defensive coordinator. Castillo has been an offensive line coach before working with the defense.
Castillo and Harbaugh have known each other from having worked together in Philadelphia before Harbaugh joined the Ravens.
